Blazing Hearts Horsemanship: Where our dreams with horses become reality.

For the novice rider: Maybe you have never ridden a horse before; have only ridden a handful of times; or maybe your confidence has been shattered. Here at BHH our first priority is safety and understanding; second is having fun; and third is dreaming up bigger and better things. We have safe lessons horses for you to learn everything from the ground such as catching, grooming, leading, and saddling up the horse; to taking your first steps in the saddle with confidence in your knowledge; in the horse your riding; and in your coach.

For the intermediate rider: You have a pretty good idea on the basics of horsemanship or riding at a walk trot and maybe a canter, but you want to strengthen confidence and further advance your skills. You either have your own horse or would like to use one of ours. We will build upon the knowledge that you already have; troubleshoot problems you may have encountered along your horsemanship journey; and instill more confidence, finesse, and grace to your horsemanship skills from the ground and in the saddle.

For the capable rider: You can lunge (or round-pen), ride w/t/c and/or gallop, you ride often (3+ times per week) but perhaps you have more goals you haven't quite reached; or maybe you're on the verge of losing interest; or maybe you think your dreams are too big to reach; or maybe you're having issues with your horse that you have tried to solve (or sent your horse to another trainer) and just can't quite get it resolved. Here at BHH we love a challenge, and we would love the opportunity to help you sort out the root of your problems and create a unbreakable, incredible bond with your horse from the ground (at liberty even) to the saddle (without a bridle, doing the impossible). Even if you don't care to do any bridle-less riding, nor ride bareback, we can help you create a more supple, willing, brave, and respectful horse and create a true partnership between you and your horse.

Ask yourself if the following questions are achievable:

  • Owning a horse, if you don't currently?
  • Have your horse stand tied quietly and patiently, for an hour?
  • Can you ride a horse without holding onto the reins and have your feet out of the stirrups for 1 minute, 5 minutes or 10 minutes straight?
  • Can you do yoga from horseback? (At sunrise?) (On the beach?) (On the top of a mountain?)
  • Can you ride your horse at the trot, blindfolded, and trust him to carry you around the arena safely 3 times while you post the trot?
  • Can you take your horses bridle off while your seated on his back and navigate an obstacle course safely and in control at a walk?
  • Can you ride your horse without a bridle at a walk, trot, and canter and perform figure 8s while your horse stays relaxed and happy?
  • Can your horse self load into a trailer and stay until you ask him to back out calmly?
  • Can you call your horse to come you from the pasture? (Like calling a dog to come to you.)
  • Can you get your horse to perform a pattern at liberty, at a walk and trot while you are at least 20+ feet away from him at all times?
  • Can you take your horse on a trail ride without a bridle?
